Hey folks – looking for a bit of guidance and insight from those further along the journey.
I’ve had my business up and running for 2 years now. It’s solid – around 4000 app downloads and growing, full professional onboarding Process, brochures, info packs – the whole shebang. We’ve laid proper groundwork and things tick over steadily each week.
That said, I keep seeing ads claiming entrepreneurs in small towns are pulling in £6k–£20k monthly profit working part-time hours. I know a lot of it can be hype, but it still makes me wonder – is there something I’m missing?
After 2 years of graft, I’d hoped to be sitting around £5k–£6k profit per month by now, but things feel like they’ve plateaued a bit. So I’m reaching out to hear from anyone who’s made that jump or is heading that way. What made the difference for you? Was it a mindset shift, team changes, Facebook ads, funnels, pricing, delegation – or something else entirely?
Not looking for a silver bullet – just honest insight from people actually doing it. Open to learning and happy to explore new ways to grow. Cheers in advance for any advice or experiences shared!
It’s clear you’ve built a solid foundation with real structure behind it, which is more than many achieve in the early years. You’ve obviously put in the work and it’s great to see that kind of commitment.
From what we’ve seen across the businesses using our platform, growth rarely comes from a single tactic. Instead, it tends to result from focused adjustments in a few key areas:
Pricing and Profitability: Businesses that regularly review and adjust their pricing often see stronger margins. Underpricing is a common limiter… small increases, aligned with the value delivered, can have a noticeable impact.
Customer Lifetime Value: The most successful operators focus on strengthening relationships with existing customers. This might involve upsells, unique special offers, or consistent engagement that encourages repeat business.
Targeted Marketing: We’ve seen localised, offer-driven campaigns outperform broader marketing efforts. When messaging is clear, creative is tailored to restaurant offerings over the marketplace concept results tend to follow.
Exclusive Upsells: Offering time-limited or upsells with add-on items as this often drives urgency and boosts average order value. These work particularly well when they are positioned as high-value or limited-access options.
Partnership-Led Campaigns: Collaborating with local influencers, community groups or complementary businesses can help extend your reach without heavy ad spend. These partnerships often drive more trust and higher conversion rates.
Experimentation: The businesses that continue to grow are those that consistently test new approaches. Whether it’s a new sales channel, promotional strategy or customer incentive, small experiments often uncover the next big opportunity.
Ultimately, the businesses that break through plateaus are the ones that test continuously, and are willing to adapt. You’ve clearly laid the groundwork, it can be hard to get to launch and it may now be a matter of refining and scaling what’s already working.
