As part of the Website v2 and Mobile App v5, we updated how your customers interact and order menu items from a scheduled menu. Your customers can now preorder from a scheduled menu, deal for customers preordering Sunday lunches or breakfast for the next day.
Menus will display if the customer chooses a delivery/collection time (ASAP and Preorder) within the menu’s availability. However as table service is always ASAP, menus will only display if they are currently available to order from.
Example:
A business has set up a menu called ‘Brunch’. The brunch menu availability date range is set to 05/05/2024 00:00 to 12/05/2024 23:59 and the availability times are set to Mon 11:00 to Mon 13:00. This would mean this menu is only available on Monday 08/05/2024 between 11:00 and 14:00
Today is Wednesday 01/05/2024 at 12:30, and a customer is viewing the outlet with Delivery ASAP selected. As expected the Brunch menu will not display as the customer’s selected time/date is not within the visibility window for the brunch menu.
The customer now updates the time/date to a preorder time and selects Mon 6th May 12:30 - 12:40, and as expected the customer can see the Brunch menu and can add items from this menu to their basket and complete their order.
Should the customer choose to change the date/time to outside the Brunch menu visibility, when they attempt to complete the order, they will be informed that the menu items are unavailable.
We hope this update means an improved ordering experience for customers preordering from a scheduled menu, for example, customers ordering for breakfast the next day. Do you have outlets that use scheduled menus?
